André L. Delbecq
Director of the Institute for Spirituality and Organizational
Leadership (ISOL)
André
L. Delbecq is the J. Thomas and Kathleen McCarthy University Professor
at Santa Clara University, where he served as Dean of the Leavey
School of Business from 1979 to 1989.
His
research and scholarship have focused on executive decision-making
processes, organization design, and managing innovation in rapid-change
environments. Recently he has conducted research on the role of
CEOs in technology firms, the business culture of Silicon Valley,
and innovation in both High Technology and Health Care.
He
is the Eighth Dean of Fellows of the Academy of Management. Dr.
Delbecq is recognized nationally for executive programs delivered
to high technology industries as well as health, human services
and government organizations. He has served as member of three corporate
Boards of Directors, and twice as Board Chair.
During
1997-98 the American Council of Learned Societies awarded him a
Contemplative Practice Fellowship. In addition, he studied at the
Graduate Theological Union at Berkeley in preparation for teaching
spirituality for business leadership.
For
more than twenty years Dr. Delbecq was a member of the Estes Park
Institute faculty for medical staff and trustee education. He was
named as an Honorary Fellow by the American College of Physician
Executives in recognition of service in the education of physician
managers. He is currently a faculty member for the College. Medical
Center clients have included Providence Hospitals, Scripps Hospitals
and Medical Centers and the Western Association of Hospitals.

James J. McGee
Associate Director for the Institute for Spirituality and Organizational
Leadership (ISOL)
Jim
McGee's current research is in the emerging interdisciplinary field
of spirituality and business with particular focus on issues of
spirituality in management leadership and organizational culture.
He
has been Assistant Dean and Director of Continuing Education at
St. Mary's Seminary and University (MD) where he served as professor
of Christian spirituality. He has extensive experience in the ecumenical
affairs including appointments as research and program staff at
the Washington Theological Consortium and the Washington Ecumenical
Institute. He has also participated as teaching faculty in the National
Conference of Christians and Jews Seminarian Interchange Program.
He
is a member of the Academy of Management, the Organizational Behavior
Teaching Society, Colleagues in Jesuit Business Education, the Bay
Area Organization Development Network, the American Academy of Religion,
the Catholic Theological Society of America, the Society for Biblical
Literature, and the Society for the Study of Christian Spirituality.
He
is a founding member of the executive committee for the Management
Spirituality and Religion Interest Group of the Academy of Management.
In his present capacity on that committee he currently serves as
the Professional Development Workshop Chair and as Program Chair-Elect.
He continues to serve as an organizational consultant, a retreat
director and a spiritual director.
